At Home Teeth Whitening
Do you remember the last time you looked at someone’s smile and noticed those ugly yellow stains on their teeth? Or how about remembering looking in the mirror and thinking how unattractive your teeth look? When I say “at home”, it just means you don’t have to go to a professional to get this done with lasers or anything. These are things you can buy and use in the comfort of your own home in order to make your teeth a lot whiter. Not only will you look more attractive, you will feel more confident as well instead of being self conscious about your stained teeth.
There are many at home teeth whiteners you can use. One of those things is the whitening strips. These things are pretty effective, at least for most people. With any of these methods, you may or may not get good results with them. If you are going to get the strips, I recommend getting the Crest whitening strips. They run about $50 for a 3 week supply. You can also get a smaller 7 day supply for about $35. They also come in a 10 days supply.
These are basically strips that go onto the top and bottom of your teeth. They only cover the parts of your teeth that you can see when you smile so don’t think you got ones that are too short for your mouth. The gel they use may taste a bit funny, but you’ll get used to it. You are going to be wearing these things for 20-30 minutes a day. You should see results about a week in but you will want to do this for 2 weeks. The results should last about 18 months.
When I used this type of at home teeth whitening product, my teeth stayed white for over 3 years. The downside that I experienced was that it left my teeth and gums a bit more sensitive than they used to be. A friend of mine who tried to use the same product couldn’t even go through the full 2 weeks because it was causing too much discomfort to her gums. So that’s just something you will want to keep in mind.
Another at home teeth whitener is the trays. These normally come in those at home teeth whitening kits that run about $30 to $60 depending on quantity. They work similar to the strips but instead of strips, you will be using trays. The gel that is used will basically bleach your teeth to make them whiter. There are also the whitening brushes where you brush whitening gel onto your teeth at night before going to bed.
These two are probably the best at home teeth whitening systems. Keep in mind that some people will have different results than others using the same product. You can also try different whitening toothpaste as well as rinsing your mouth with hydrogen peroxide as well. Since companies online have lower overhead, they can often sell these things at a cheaper price so you may want to buy them online instead of at the stores.
