Popping Zits Correctly

Posted by Kelly

When it comes to dealing with acne, there is nothing more common than popping zits. Although this is okay to do once your acne is at the right stage, doing it wrong can cause you to have even more acne or even worse, acne scars. This article will show you how to correctly pop zits and will also give you some tips on how to prevent more from showing up.

So how do people usually pop zits? They will normally try to press their nails underneath the zit and force it out. This is a mistake because the skin is very sensitive. When you are pressing on it like that, it can cause damage to your skin which can result into having more zits appear. Another bad thing that can happen when you pop a zit is that it will leave your face open to possible infections. Many people will just take a zit out and just leave the open wound waiting to pick up more bacteria. Another thing many people will do is let the puss from the zits ooze out and not properly wash them off. This can lead to it spreading to the surrounding areas of your face and causing you to have even more zits. The most common thing people will do is pop their zit without first cleaning their skin.

Okay, so here is the correct way of popping zits. The first thing you will want to do is make sure you wash your face. You can use an antibacterial cleanser to do this. This will help to reduce any inflammation as well as kill any bacteria around the zit.  There are two ways of getting popping the pimple. The first is to use your fingers and the second is to use a sharp tool. If you use tools, you will want to make sure you wash it will rubbing alcohol to prevent any infections.

When you are ready, what you will do is wrap the tip of your fingers in some tissue paper. This will prevent accidentally digging your nails into your zit. You want to prevent getting any bacteria that is under your finger nails into your zit. You will then want to start by stretching the area where the zit is to see if that will make some of the puss come out. After that, you will want to gently squeeze into the zit from the sides instead of going inward towards your skin. This will help in terms of not causing more damage to your skin. Now you may find that by doing this, you won’t get all of the puss out. This is fine. That just means it’s not ready to fully come out yet. Forcing it out can lead to scars and more zits so it’s better to just wait. If you use a sharp instrument like a needle, you will want to make a small incision and let the stuff come out.

After you are done with everything, you will want to clean your face. Be careful not to be too rough around the popped zit. By making sure you do this in a clean and sanitary way, you will help ensure that by popping zits, you won’t be producing more of them by being careless. It’s sometimes easier to just dig in there and get as much out as possible but sometimes, the best thing to do is to just wait it out. It’s much better to have to deal with some zits on your face that will go away later than to have acne scars. You will then want to finish up by applying a cream with benzoyl peroxide onto the area.
